KAMOTSURU SAKE MUSEUM SHOP Tasting Bar・Shopping・Displays
We renovated an old sake warehouse that was originally built in 1872 and reopened it as the Kamotsuru Sake Museum Shop in 2019. The warehouse was designated as a national historic site in February 2024, as one of the Saijo Sake Breweries.
In Saijo, there are seven sake breweries located side by side on Sakagura-Dori Street within a 10-minute walk. In 2017, Saijo's old brewing buildings were also selected as symbols of Japan's 20th-century heritage by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). Visitors can taste several Kamotsuru sakes and experience the tradition of sake making through unique displays and exhibits. Our store sells not only sake but many other items, including sweets and sake goods.
